[Update 3: Handed over to UR for brand check. Site will launch as artgallery.ok.ubc.ca until gallery.ok.ubc.ca domain is available, which is currently used by FCCS Public Art Collection. ETA for new PAC using PastPerfect is December 2021. -SQ]
[Update 2: IT created site shell March 1. CSP will be cloned pages from various sites. -SQ ]
[Update 1: Kickoff meeting Feb 19, 2021. Full Faculty/Dept theme because site is highly visual (light). -SQ]
Website for a physical gallery at future UBCO Downtown Kelowna campus. Project combines current Public Art Collection web application project (PastPerfect) together with promoting new future downtown gallery. Gallery website domain (gallery.ok.ubc.ca) has been approved by multiple stakeholders to belong to FCCS. FCCS will use gallery.ok.ubc.ca domain for use to promote new downtown physical gallery instead of only for Public Art Collection. gallery.ok.ubc.ca would simply link off to separate site where Public Art Collection application would be hosted. Domain name yet to be determined (eg: public-art.ok.ubc.ca).

To showcase the public Art collection on campus, to have a presence for the new downtown gallery and to have a presence for the FINA gallery on campus.
There are changes recently to how the Curator positions functions, it has recently moved to FCCS from the library and there is work being done to make this more of a university gallery rather than a student gallery for their work during the academic year. Over the next year there will be more outside artists exhibiting on campus, which will make the gallery more legitimate in the art world and allow the curator staff to apply for funding through Canada Council, BC Arts Council etc. or operating funding, and will be a step to creating the new downtown gallery space. |

Not exactly sure on this, there is work being done to get a new collection management system for the art collection already with Chris Danek, but maybe there is some way to integrate… |
