Description
Posts syndicated from news.ok.ubc.ca do not currently bring in the featured images. Featured images then need to be added in the local copy on the receiving site.
IT exploring ways to automatically import feature image along with rest of post.
Problem and potential solutions are fairly complex, involving multiple plugins.
Completion Notes:
IT has extended the FeedWordPress Syndication plugin to automatically assign the source Featured Image to posts that are being syndicated from news.ok.ubc.ca website. This is now active on all Faculty/Dept sites using syndication.
The new feature creates a local copy of the Featured Image from the source site and assigns that image as the Featured Image on the receiving site(s).
Alternatively, you can assign a fallback Featured Image for posts which did not originally have one from news.ok.ubc.ca. Or if you want to use a different Featured Image than the one imported from news.ok.ubc.ca, you can still manually edit the post in your receiving site(s) and assign an image of your choice.
