Site hierarchy (the parent-child relationship)

WordPress administrators and editors can establish and manage a hierarchical structure for pages in WordPress, organizing the site’s content in a logical parent-child relationship.


How to set up a parent page:

Option 1:

  1. Go to Pages and select the page you want to edit.
  2. Locate Page Attributes on the right panel.
  3. Choose the Parent page from the dropdown menu.
  4. Optionally, add an Order number (usually starting from 0). This affects the navigation order of subpages.
  5. Click the Publish or Update button to save your changes.

Option 2:

  1. Go to Pages and hover over the page you want to edit, then click Quick Edit.
  2. Choose the Parent page from the dropdown menu.
  3. Optionally, add an Order number (usually starting from 0). This affects the navigation order of subpages.
  4. Click the Update button to save your changes.
